
23 Jun PROMETIA Calls PhD Students, Young Researchers and Engineers to Apply for the 2025 Tech Tour in Greece
Are you a PhD student, young researcher, or engineer affiliated with a PROMETIA member organization? Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to join the renowned 2025 Tech Tour in Greece!
From October 6 to 9, 2025, participants will get a unique chance to explore cutting-edge facilities in mining, mineral processing, and recycling. The tour includes visits to top industry leaders such as:
- ElvalHalcor, leading industrial company specialised in the production and processing of aluminium and copper products
- Distomo, underground bauxite mine, one of the largest underground mine in Greece
- Metlen facilties, aluminium processing & recycling plant
- NTUA laboratories
- Monolithos, specialised in the recycling and regeneration of automotive catalytic converters

This immersive experience is designed to take participants beyond the classroom and theoretical studies, offering real-world insights and hands-on learning. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to network with industry experts and fellow PROMETIA members.
Please note: This Tech Tour is exclusively open to PROMETIA members and is tailored especially for emerging professionals in the field.
How to Apply
Participation is reserved exclusively for PROMETIA members and is limited to PhD students, postdocs, young engineers, or researchers in the early stages of their careers (less than 3 years). The number of participants is capped at 20. Members should have recieved the registration link for the application process via email. In case of any problems, please reach out to contact@prometia.eu.
Each attendee is responsible for covering their own travel expenses to Greece. Once in Athens, at the designated hotel meeting point (details to be communicated), all other expenses will be fully covered by PROMETIA. Participants should plan to arrive in Athens by the late afternoon or evening of October 5th.
Deadline for applications: July 7th.
Due to the limited number of places, the final selection of attendees will be announced shortly after July 15th.
